Speed up residue breakdown with BW Fusion Meltdown

Prairie Ag Solutions • September 23, 2025

Meltdown is BW Fusion’s residue digestion product made with a consortium of naturally occurring microbes. It’s designed to break down cellulose, lignin, and chitin in crop stubble so those tied-up nutrients cycle back into the soil for next season.

Why It Matters After Harvest

  • Faster residue breakdown for a cleaner seedbed and easier planting.
  • Nutrient return as residue decomposes, supporting N, P, and K availability. BW Fusion cites a 64% increase in nutrient value per acre in independent studies and potential savings up to $50 per acre on P and K.

When To Apply

  • Primary timing: Immediately post-harvest in the fall, while residue is fresh and field access is good.
  • Alternative timing: Early spring before planting if fall passes were missed.

How To Apply

  • Rate: 1 quart per acre (32 oz/ac) per the product label and program sheets. Always follow the current label.
  • Carrier and coverage: Apply in sufficient water for uniform residue coverage using ground rigs. Incorporation is not required, but contact with residue matters. (General guidance from BW Fusion materials that emphasize residue contact and tank-mix readiness.)
  • Tank mix: Marketed as tank-mix ready for various residue scenarios. Check local compatibility and label directions before mixing.

BW Fusion reports a 64% increase in nutrient value per acre with potential P and K savings up to $50 per acre. Contact us today for more information!
